They say April showers bring May flowers, but in the world of Shef Shaun’s Kitchen, this April is bringing a total transformation. After an incredible weekend connecting with the community at the EmpowHer High Tea and Black Wall Street, I’m standing in a place of immense gratitude—and even greater ambition.
Today, I am thrilled to officially pull back the curtain on a project that has been simmering behind the scenes for months.
Welcome to The Atelier.

What is The Atelier?
The word Atelier (pronounced a-tel-yay) traditionally refers to a private workshop or studio where a master artist creates. For us, The Atelier is a boutique culinary-focused interior design consultancy. It is the place where my 10+ years as a professional chef meet the world of luxury spatial strategy.
How Does It Function?
Most designers focus on how a room looks. At The Atelier, we focus on how a room performs. We call this Culinary Performance Design.
We bridge the gap between the high-pressure ergonomics of a professional kitchen and the refined comfort of a luxury home. We don’t just "pick furniture"—we conduct Spatial Audits. We analyze the "Social Flow" between the prep station and the guest.
We specify materials that can withstand the rigors of a working kitchen but still feel like a sanctuary.
We solve for "Social Friction," ensuring the host is never isolated from the conversation.
Power in Partnership
I have always believed that excellence thrives in collaboration. That is why I am proud to announce that The Atelier is in a creative partnership with Craig Madison and his firm, Designs on Madison. Craig’s sophisticated eye and mastery of high-end design provide the perfect creative compass for our technical culinary strategies. Together, we are creating spaces that aren't just beautiful—they are biologically and socially efficient.

The Road to High Point Market
The timing couldn’t be better. As we gear up for the High Point Market (April 25–29), we have already successfully secured partnerships with premier trade labels like Monogram, Restoration Hardware, Williams Sonoma and are finalizing accounts with several other luxury vendors.
When I walk those halls in High Point later this month, I won't just be looking for "pretty things." I will be selecting the 108-inch dining anchors, the performance-grade leather stools, and the sculptural lighting that will define our upcoming project pipeline.

A New Day, A New Way to Serve
To my clients who have supported Shef Shaun’s Kitchen: I am still your chef. But now, I am also your architect of experience. Whether it’s a kitchen audit to optimize your home or a full-scale redesign of your dining sanctuary, we are here to ensure your home truly serves you.
It’s a new day. Let’s build something beautiful.
