The 2026 Master Reset: Moving with Intentionality

The calendars have turned, the holiday rush has settled, and the kitchen is finally quiet. In years past, I’ve used this time to look backward, but for 2026, I am looking inward and forward.
If you’ve followed my journey over the last few years, you know I participate in the One Word Challenge. Two years ago, my word was Integrity—building a foundation of trust. Last year was Excellence—honing the craft to a professional edge.
This year, my word is INTENTIONAL.
In the kitchen and in life, everything I do in 2026 must have a purpose. No wasted movement, no wasted ingredients, and no wasted time.
The Purge & The Inventory
Before we can build something new, we have to see what we’re standing on. My "Master Reset" for January isn't just about cleaning out the pantry; it’s about a mental and physical purge.
The Purge: We are clearing out the heavy, processed "clutter" of the holiday season.
The Inventory: We are taking stock of the tools, talents, and ingredients we already possess. What do you have in your "kitchen" right now that can fuel your success in 2026?
Refuel/Re-Stock: We are filling up with new oil, new tools, new ideology that support where we need to be this year and in the years ahead.
Recipes for Success: The 36-Day Consecration
Starting this Sunday, I am joining my church family at Calvary Christian Church of the Apostolic Faith for our annual 36-day consecration. We are tithing the first 10% of our year back to the Lord through a modified Daniel Fast.
This isn’t just a dietary change; it is an intentional spiritual alignment. Over the next five weeks, I’ll be sharing my personal journey as a "Recipe for Success." I’ll show you how to navigate this fast with lean proteins and whole foods that nourish the body while we focus on the soul.
Community & Connection: January Workshops
Intentionality also means showing up for the community. I am thrilled to announce two "In the Kitchen with Shef Shaun and Coach Sam" workshops this month in partnership with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library.
If you want to learn how to master your own kitchen reset, join us at these locations:
January 17th: Steele Creek Library

A Commitment to Your 2026
Whether I am helping you prepare for a ServSafe Certification, consulting on your Restaurant Health Score, or providing Personalized Meal Prep to give you back your time, I promise to move with intentionality.
Let’s stop "just cooking" and start creating a life that tastes like the goals we’ve set.
What is your "One Word" for 2026? Let’s talk about it in the comments.
