The 6th Love Language: Why Food is the Ultimate Way to Say "I Love You"

We’ve all heard of the 5 Love Languages: Words of Affirmation, Acts of Service, Receiving Gifts, Quality Time, and Physical Touch. They are the keys to understanding how we connect with our partners.
But after years in the kitchen, I’m convinced there is a 6th Love Language, and it might be the most powerful one of all: Food.
Think about it. Preparing a meal for someone is an Act of Service. Sitting down to eat without phones or distractions is Quality Time. The meal itself is a Gift. And the sensory experience of a great dinner sets the stage for everything else.
This Valentine’s Day, I’m challenging you to skip the cliché and embrace the 6th Love Language.
The Problem with Valentine’s Day Restaurants
Let’s be real for a second. We love restaurants, but February 14th is often the worst night of the year to visit one.
The Noise: It’s loud, crowded, and impossible to have an intimate conversation.
The Rush: Servers are under pressure to "turn and burn" tables, meaning your romantic dinner feels like a timed event.
The Menu: You’re often stuck with a limited "Prix Fixe" menu that you didn't choose.
That isn't romance. That’s logistics.
A New Way to Date: The Shef Shaun Experience
This year, I’m inviting you to bring the intimacy back to Valentine’s Day. Whether you want to be pampered or you want to get your hands dirty together, I have designed two experiences to celebrate your connection.
1. The "Private Dining" Experience (Luxury & Relaxation)
Imagine a 5-star restaurant experience, but the only table is yours, and the venue is the comfort of your own home. I handle the shopping, the prep, the cooking, the service, and—best of all—the cleanup. You simply pour the wine, light the candles, and focus entirely on your partner. We will curate a custom menu that tells your story, featuring ingredients you actually love.
2. The "Couples Cooking" Experience (Connection & Fun)
They say, "Couples who cook together, stay together." If your idea of romance is laughter, learning, and collaboration, my private Couples Cooking Classes are for you. This isn't just a demonstration; it’s hands-on. We’ll build a dish from scratch, teaching you skills you’ll use for years to come. It’s an interactive date night that ends with a delicious reward.
Make This February Memorable
Flowers wilt and chocolates get eaten in a day. But the memory of an incredible meal shared in an intimate setting lasts forever.
My calendar for Valentine’s Week (Feb 9th – Feb 15th) is extremely limited and dates are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
Don't settle for a noisy reservation. Let’s create something special.
With love and flavor,
Shef Shaun
